Family & Elderly Housing

Our aim is to ensure safe, decent, and affordable housing, create opportunities for residents' self-sufficiency and economic independence; and assure fiscal integrity by all program participants.

Public Housing Program provides rental assistance to low and moderate-income families and individuals. The Housing Authority owns, manages and maintains all rental units offered under this program, which are located in neighborhoods throughout the County of Scotts Bluff such as Gering, Terry Town, Morrill, Minatare, Bridgeport, and Chappell.

Families must first apply for the assistance. When the family meets the eligibility requirements for assistance, they are than placed on a waiting list, during the waiting period, Scotts Bluff Housing Authority verifies their income, checks their criminal history and land lord references. Once a families name reaches the top of the waiting list, Scotts Bluff Housing Authority contacts the family by phone or mail.

We have several units that are focused on the family plus units that are focused on seniors and people with special needs.  Preference is given to Elderly (62+ Years Old) and Disabled ONLY.
